The general category assembly seat for the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh is located in the town of Banjar, which is part of the Banjar Tehsil in the Kullu District and also Mandi parliament seat. Close to Banjar lies the NH5 national highway. The three largest political parties in this country are the BJP, INC, and others. Pratibha Singh, who represented the INC and won the district’s latest Lok Sabha by-election in 2021 from Mandi following the passing of Ram Swaroop Sharma, who had won the general Lok Sabha election in 2019,represents the district in that body, as does Surender Shourie, who is currently an assembly member. According to the 2011 Census report, SC and ST assemblygoers account for 28.99% and 1.42% of the assembly’s total voting population, respectively, along with Muslim voters, rural voters, and urban voters, who make up around 2.2%, 98.58%, and 1.43% of the population, respectively. In the 2019 Parliamentary Election, there were 145 booths where voters could cast their ballots for the Banjar parliament, and 71805 individuals did so. In addition, 76.52% of those who were qualified to vote in 2019 compared to 81.74%of those in 2017 attended the assembly in Banjar. Along with the Kalwari ( 3 KM ), Bahu (4 KM ), Tandi (4 KM ), Khabal (4 KM ), and Manglore (5 KM ) villages, the Sorang Ghad and Bakhli Khad rivers are also close by. It must be emphasised that the location is 2065 metres above sea level. And here, the native tongue is Hindi.
