Bilaspur, the General category assembly seat for the Himachal Pradesh state of India, is located in the Bilaspur District and is a part of the Hamirpur Parliament seat. It is situated on the foot of the Bandla Hills, along the left bank of river Sutlej. The largest political parties in this assembly are the BJP and INC. Both, current assembly member Subhash Thakur and MP Anurag Thakur serve as the district’s representatives in that body. Muslims, voters in rural areas, and voters in cities make up around 2.6%, 86.15%, and 13.86% of the population, respectively, according to the 2011 Census report. SC and ST assemblygoers make up 24.93% and 0.83% of the assembly’s total voting population, respectively.
