Shahpur is not too far from the national highways NH154 and NH154A. The BJP, BSP and INC are the three major parties that control this legislature. Both the district’s MP, Kishan Kapoor, and the MLA of the present assembly, Sarveen Choudhary, hold seats in that body. Muslim voters, rural voters, and urban voters make up around 1.5%, 100%, and 0% of the population, respectively, of the assembly, according to the 2011 Census report. SC and ST assemblygoers make up 24.34% and 11.75% of the assembly’s overall voting population, as well. The Shahpur assembly has 115 polling places for the 2019 Parliamentary Election, and 86768 people cast ballots.
