In addition to being a General category assembly seat and one of the 17 assembly segments of the Kangra Parliament Seat, Nurpur is a Town in Kangra District of Himachal Pradesh State, India. Nurpur is not too far from the national highways NH503 and NH154. In this assembly, the dominant political party are BJP and INC. Both Rakesh Pathania, the current MLA of the assembly, and Kishan Kapoor, the district’s MP, were chosen to serve in that capacity.
